History of Figurative Art

Figurative art, alternatively known as figurativism, is a style in art forms -predominantly in paintings and sculptures. Figurative paintings and sculptures are evidently replica of real objects. Hence these creations can be defined as representational art.

Human figures and even animal figures are quite commonly found as examples of works of this kind. Yet the scope of this style is not confined to the geometric replicas of living beings. In conjunction with abstract forms and styles, any modern art replicating the real world has been referred to this form by the authors of Tate Institute Glossary. According to this viewpoint any figurative works is also representational and abstract creation is a special derivative of the representational art. Moreover, this opinion continues to project that non-representational or non-objective art is certainly not abstract.

How Can Boomers Get Ready For a Birthday?

Fellow Boomers, don’t you just love, ugh, those articles, birthday cards, and other banners that announce you know you are old when…. Tell me, do you want to know when you are old? I didn’t think so.

Do you want to see lights flashing, confetti falling from the sky, and bumper stickers proclaiming your next phase in life? How ’bout a boomer birthday cake with a blow torch instead of candles? I didn’t think so, but you cannot stop those well meaning younger chicks just itching to give you a 50th birthday party.

When We Hate Being Wrong

Occasionally, just every now and then, we get caught; we hate being wrong. It’s the moment our world crumbles and we give into the child complex never too far away. Relax. Become humble.

It’s a fact for all of us, this phenomenon of hating being wrong; pride never a stretch too far away from any of us. Perhaps it’s just with the years and the process of maturation of life that we get to resist or quell our pride better – the response – but the stimuli is always the stimuli!

Picture Framing Supplies For the Art Gallery

Gallery owners will spend a little time learning the framework. If you can frame photos of art and painting, you will save lots of money, which is important given the amount of artwork that will come by the gallery throughout the year . You can buy drawing equipment in bulk and keep them handy so that you can have all the loans you need for artistic leadership.

Left & Right-Wing Brains – Ideology 101

Several weeks ago a friend challenged me to explain the difference between left and right-wing ideologies.

“Can you do it?” challenged friend. “Moreso, can you do it fairly and without the usual right and left stereotypes and with the history of where these ideological groupings come from?”

Sure. Why not. There’s no resolving the esoteric spectra of political ideology – Marxism, communism, socialism, liberalism, classical liberalism, libertarianism, conservatism, neo-conservatism, neo-liberalism and fascism, to name just a few – if we can’t even tell left from right. If we can’t say why we keep leaning either way.
